Friedrich Waismann
This article is part of an important series of six articles entitled, "Analytic-Synthetic n" by this author. F. Waismann was a member of the Vienna Circle of Philosophers that included Moritz Schlick, Otto Neurath, Ernst Nagel, Kurt Gödel, and, for a short period, Ludwig Wittgenstein. He was Schlick's most talented graduate student and served as the scribe for the Vienna Circle meetings as well as a participant in full standing. During the 1930s, before WWII broke out, he and the other members left Vienna for the UK and the USA. Waismann became a faculty member at Oxford University.
